TrueRepose: Athens - Spetses - Syros
We recommend our TrueRepose trip to guests who yearn to escape to the peace and tranquility of a historic Greece, unspoiled by modern-day civilization. This vacation, which features a minimal amount of scheduled tours, is ideal for those in search of an opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty and culture of the Greek Island lifestyle, while enjoying the hospitality of family-run resorts that feel more like bed and breakfasts than traditional hotels.
The Islands
Spetses is a beautiful island with rich vegetation and one special attribute: no cars are allowed on the island. Instead, water taxis, motorbikes, and romantic horse-carriages are widely used to move around the small island. Spetses is also an island of rich history. The Bouboulina and Spetses museums, the latter serving as a tribute to the famous 19th century female naval commander, portray the island's crucial role in the Greek Fight for Independence against the Ottoman Empire.

Syros, the capital of the Cyclades, enjoys a special role in the long history of Greece. Eulogized by Homer for its rich agriculture and herds, it became in modern times one of the chief ports and manufacturing centers of Greece. Today, visitors to Syros are captivated by its natural beauty and impressive neoclassical architecture, as well as its art, music festivals, and theater productions.
