This was the trip I would have planned - if I had been to the destinations two or three times previously. Examples: transportation arrangements, hotel choices, destination and length of stay choices, and guides. Transportation arrangements ... First, booking business class on the inter-island ferry was brilliant. We were far more comfortable than had we been elbow to elbow for five hours. We might have thought to save a little money once; but, would have definitely upgraded the next time having done it once. Having a local make our arrangements made a big difference. Second, our trip was less stressful because there was a competent person, in a nice car, waiting just for us every time we stepped off a boat or plane. Hotel choices ... Our hotels on Naxos and Santorini were jewels. These were not inexpensive properties. They were, however, the perfect places to stay given our preferences for location, staff, amenities, and price. Destination and length of stay choices ... Left to our own devices, we would have visited more destinations with less time for each. This would have been a mistake. On a return trip, we would have limited ourselves to fewer, but the right, destinations. Planning the right trip the first time was possible; because we had a consultative agent who discovered exactly what we wanted and took the time to help us plan. While many agencies do this, having an agent who was a local was the difference. Guides ... Every guided tour revolved around us. The guides chatted with us and used the information gathered to tailor our tours to our interests. We felt that each of our tours was personalized. Well done! In conclusion, this was not the least expensive way to plan and book our trip - it was the best way. Thank-you.
